Sisters – October 2017 {Siblings}

Siblings Sisters October 2017

Sometimes I really struggle to write these little updates, it is almost like one day rolls into the next and I can’t think of anything of note to write down or talk about, yet I pressure myself that it has been a whole month, that something must have changed between my sisters, we must have something to say. Whilst I am sure that if I really thought about it or trawled through photos I could come up with more blog worthy content, I have to say that some months just feel like this. The girls seem to be at an age where they are settled, in their lives, in their relationship and in our little family.

It hasn’t been the easiest of months with illnesses and busy times meaning that they have spent more time out of routine or with other people than usual. They have taken this is their stride though and I think that is because their constant has been each other. They seem to be getting on so well, communicating and playing nicely and enjoying each others company so it is just our new normal, and a really good one at that. Roma is the one to do anything to make Eva laugh, she continues to be the person who can make Eva laugh harder than anyone else and when she walks into a room with her she looks like the proudest big sister ever. Equally Roma is Eva’s biggest fan too, she runs across the playground to greet her with the biggest hug every single day and as we watched Eva in her first Harvest Festival at her new school she could not take her eyes off what Eva was doing. Every time she ducked her little shy self behind the person in front Roma would whisper in my ear asking where she had gone.

They squabble and push and neither one of them ever wants to give in (I am not sure where they get their stubborn streak from!!) which results in them pushing against one another and me trying not to laugh in their direction as they both insist they are not doing anything! But push comes to shove, literally, and they have each others back. When Eva had time off school poorly, Roma was there to look after her. When Roma followed with a sickness bug, Eva was there to hold her hand when no one else would do. They love each other fiercely and even through fights there is never a doubt that they love each other without question.

These photos were taken today as we headed to enjoy the autumn sunshine at a local forestry centre and go in search of leaves. The plan was to crunch in leaves, collect them and maybe throw some too as we tried to embrace the autumn colours. We may however have failed at the first place we wanted to go to due to a cross country run there and not found quite as many leaves at our second choice but I love these photos anyway. It was a really relaxed day and I just snapped away as they explored together, as they chatted and as they made funny faces, intentionally and not so much!

So no there may not be anything especially blog worthy this month but as I am able to sit back and watch them play together I feel lucky that we are right where we are with them and I am going to ride out this ordinary for as long as I can.

xx

I guess this is sort of an outtake but I just love it, Roma decided to throw leaves so hard that it made Eva duck for cover like it was raining bricks and made Roma laugh equally as enthusiastically!

    I often feel like not much changes from month to month too! I love your photos and your girls are absolutely stunning. You can just see from your pics that they’re thick as thieves xx (ps teach me how to plait like that..pleease!) xx

      Haha the plait skills come from being one of three girls with very long hair as a child! I can totally teach you x

    They are gorgeous! I often find the months fly by and it’s hard to write something new or different, but in a way that’s not always a bad thing- it means we’ve found a rhythm and everyone is content with life and there are no big changes going on. Often just the way I like it! x

      That’s absolutely true, there is something lovely and comforting about the changes being so small they are barely noticeable x

    Oh that first photo is so gorgeous. I just love the way that they seem utterly oblivious to the camera and lost in their own little world together. Such a gorgeous sibling moment to capture 🙂 #siblingsproject
