Sisters – March {Siblings}

Sisters

As I sit here to write this post, to look back over the photo’s of this month with my two Little Ladies I have a huge smile on my face. Today was my first day back at work since having R and I really did miss them so much. I missed how R tries to run in after her sister every morning through the school gates, how she shouts “babye” as I try my hardest to coax her the other way. How E always gives her a cuddle in the playground, a kiss on the forehead and tells her she hopes she has a good day. I missed how they follow one another around the house and jump at the mere presence of the other and fall to the floor in fits of giggles. How E makes sure her little sister is safe at all times, even telling Daddy to make sure he closes the stair gate of a morning! How R chants E’s name – or her version of it – over and over again and how E is just so enormously proud to hear it. So much about being a mother now is about their relationship, every day is about their interaction with each other and even when they are not physically around one another they are never far from their minds.

At bedtime tonight, when they were a little bit too excitable and they should have been calming down, I couldn’t help but sit back and smile. They ran around making each other laugh, banging on doors, wrestling on the floor and shaking bare bottoms. I let it happen around me, I let the sound of innocent laughter ring in my ears happy and content that they have each other. They are both amazing at being a sister and they are both very very lucky to have the other.

Last weekend we went to the oh so glamorous garden centre. We got out of the house, looked for house plants, had a drink and my Little Ladies played in the little play area. R is really getting to the stage now where she is happy to be playing with E and I think it is actually really helping E find her place in this world. She has always been quite shy, so socially playing has always been tricky for her, but now having a fearless little sister around she is gaining so much and this was really evident that day. She is at a real mothering stage at the moment and it is just so adorable. I am still yet to find that one picture where they are both looking in the same direction or in focus or one isn’t pulling a strange face but this is the stage we are at and I am ok with that. White glasses and all! These are my Little Ladies right now. My sisters.

I just had to add these ones in at the end, I have always taken alot of photos on my phone especially as we are about to go out either in the porch or by the garage – so much so that even R goes and stands there every time we leave the house now! And I just love the interaction you can see here, E finds her little sister even at 13 months just so funny I cannot wait to see how this evolves as R starts to communicate more and more.

    Lovely photos! You can’t beat a trip to the garden centre. I love to see siblings playing together, it’s like they are in their own little bubble. X

    Aww I love the way they look at each other – they’re just so gorgeous and sweet together. I hope the return to work continues to go well for you – the first few weeks can be tough but it starts to feel all very normal quite quickly!

      They really do have so much love for one another, and thank you, it has been mixed emotions but like you say I am sure it will soon become our new normal. x
