Surviving Motherhood with Blue Coffee Box **Plus Giveaway

Blue Coffee Box

That first drink of the day, a hot coffee in hand, drank whilst sat with the light streaming through the windows and the children playing happily together in the morning sun. That is the dream. If in fact you have managed to get any sleep at all that is, otherwise it may not look anything like that and in reality much like me this past few weeks which is more like grabbing a luke warm coffee in order to take on the school run whilst grappling with a poorly toddler and wishing I had time to wash my hair as I am silently thankful it is hat weather.

What I do not thank this weather for however is the germs. Roma has never been a particularly great sleeper and truth be told probably about 80% of nights in the last 3 years have been broken. My goodness that seems like a lot written down! I have talked about my sleep woes before with the littlest and of course we have got to a point now where it is mostly fine. However when illness strikes it is a whole different story again and it takes her a good while to recover, sleep wise. Needless to say not much sleep has been had around these parts in the past few weeks and me and no sleep, just don’t mix.

So when Roma’s virus and therefore the sleepless nights coincided with the day Blue Coffee Box sent me a parcel containing 3 bags of the stuff through the post I called it fate, divine intervention, call it what you will but it was a really happy coincidence. Whilst sometimes the most I can do is to throw some instant in a cup and be done with it the coffee lover in me craves a machine or ground one too. In fact I have a cupboard full of coffee paraphernalia!

The three bags you get in the box are chosen for you after you register your preferences and sent ground ready for the purpose of your choosing, mine being cafetiere but of course you can have whole beans too, all roasted right here in the UK. The geek in me loves the fact that each beautifully packaged, letter box sized blue box (naturally), comes complete with tasting cards displaying lots of information all about the particular coffee that has been chosen that week. I spent probably far too much time reading it all and analysing which one to try first! If you were wondering San Juan was my favourite.

Now obviously I don’t live off coffee alone on a daily basis but you know when one child is ill and yet you have to bundle everyone in the car for the school run every morning, some weeks surviving with coffee and food is about all we can do. But good coffee at that. And naturally days in the house mixed with a cupboard full of accessories mean time to get my milk frother, stencils and chocolate sprinkles at the ready too. Who needs a fancy coffee shop date when you can do a semi fancy pattern on your own coffee at home. Black coffee, milky coffee, you name it, I drank it. Hey I’m no barista but I can give it a go!

Now Roma is feeling much better now but the sleep issues are still a work in progress so thank you Blue Coffee Box for sending me my lifeline and getting a tired mama through a tough week.

xx

I, unfortunately, can’t drink coffee as it doesn’t agree with me 🙁 But my husband loves a good coffee, especially when it’s just the two of us sitting down to do a bit of work after the school run (when it’s nice and quiet in the house!!)

I like a nice plain digestive with my coffee so it doesnt spoil the flavour. Coffee time is my five minutes of me time to myself to enjoy.
