Living Arrows #9 {2017}

Living Arrows Colour run Colour Blast

Living Arrows {which originally comes from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”) is about celebrating childhood, and for me is about one photo from each week telling a story, mostly, all of it’s own.

The 4 day week has been nice this week, it should totally be the norm and I am sure it is the same for everyone but it just seems to allow us a really good mix between getting things done and having family time too. We have filled this week with much of the same, we are making an outdoor kitchen for the children so Eddy spent time building that followed by shopping for accessories (my favourite part) in Ikea, on a bank holiday Monday! We may well have been crazy but actually it really wasn’t that bad. Win win.

My photos have an unintentional sporty theme this week and it involves Daddy! Eddy is a big sports fan and particularly his beloved Everton football club and as there was a sale on childrens football kits he decided (against my better judgement) to buy Roma a little kit for herself. She absolutely loves it, to the point where every single day since she got it she has asked to put it on and every night when Eddy gets in from work they change into it and play football in the garden. It is so so lovely to have them able to share his biggest passion together, although going anywhere other than the garden in it might be pushing it for me!

On Sunday Eva and Eddy spent a glorious morning in the park doing a 2.5km colour run, they did it last year and Eva absolutely loved it and immediately said she wanted to do it again so there was no doubt they would be there again this year. It is such a brilliant event with a real family feel and the colours all around are just beautiful. Eva loved getting absolutely covered as she ran through the colour stops and threw the cornstarch all over herself and Eddy, this photo was taken before she even started, check back soon for the full post and the end result with some video too. I am so proud of her, she might not be the most sporty child in the world but she really tries and I think running might just be her thing, she ran the whole way without stopping and as above, it was really lovely to see her share in a special moment with her daddy.

    Love the photos and Roma looks great in her football kit. So great the girls took part in the colour run too. I always wanted to do it. #livingarrows

    She looks like she had a great time. Pretty impressive distance running for a young child. I don’t know if N could run that – he does cross country club at school, but I wouldn’t really put him as a runner. #livingarrows

    She looks so happy! We thought about doing it last year but didn’t get around to it. I think we might just do it. And I love that your girl is interested in sport x #livingarrows
