Living Arrows #4 {2017}

Living arrows reflections in the garden table

Living arrows (Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”) is about celebrating childhood, and for me is about one photo from each week telling the story.

This week the photos of my two could not be more different yet are only taken 24 hours apart, such is the great British springtime!

On Saturday despite the drizzle Eddy and the children were out in the garden moving some wood, Eva was such a great helper carrying wood for Eddy and watching out for Roma too and I love this photo of her in her all in one waterproof. She is growing up so fast and at the moment I absolutely love it, I relish it as she is (mostly) so much fun to be around and I can see and appreciate the real life person she is becoming, and of course she is the most beautiful thing in the world to me but that is a given being her Mum!

Just 1 day later and the sun was shining bright in the very same spot as they were out again doing some gardening and helping Daddy to plant some herbs. I haven’t been too well with a headache so spent most of the day in bed but nipped out to have a cup of tea with them in the sunshine and I am so glad that I did. This photo totally sums Roma up, she has soil all over her clothes, dirt in her hair and is staring at her own reflection in the now mud covered table. What the photo doesn’t tell you though is that a few moments later there is a bang as she headbutts the table in her quest to get a little bit too close to the detail that she sees in the glass!

    I thought Roma’s photo was her having a mid-life crisis head in hands moment! hehe. I love the story behind photos and can see her reflection now you’ve mentioned it. Eva’s photo is beautiful – she’s a rainbow amongst the clouds x
